Welcome to Ipswich Hockey Club

Ipswich Hockey Club is a friendly and successful Men's and Women's club based in Ipswich, Suffolk in the UK.clubsfirst15

We are ClubsFirst Accredited and are recognised as working towards providing a Safe, Effective and Child Friendly hockey environment.

The club has won over 16 National Titles, 2 EH Cups, 2 European Silver medals and 1 European Bronze.  

We run 4 Men's Senior sides and 4 Women's sides, as well as Mixed, Masters and Junior teams. 

We are able to provide hockey for both Men and Women at ALL levels and for ALL Ages.

Women's Hockey

Our Women's 1's play in Investec EHL East Conference, before that they played in the English National Premier League for 19 consecutive seasons.


The team are coached by Asif Rais and have long term ambitions to regain a place back in the Premier League. 

Indoors the team reached the semi final of the National Finals for four consecutive years (2005-2008) and this season they will play in Division 2.

Men's Hockey

The Men 1's won promtion last season and this year will play East Premier A League. They also had several seasons in the English National Conference East and their long term ambition is to return to the national League.

England, GB and International Players

The club has been home to many England and GB International players, Leisa King and Olympians Sandie Lister, Vicky Dixon, Jo Ellis, Harry Martin, George Pinner and Jo Thompson to name a few.  Our Women's current 1st Team GK is South African Double Olympian (Beijing & London) Mariette Rix.


Junior section

The club are particularly proud of the thriving and successful Junior section and we have over 150 Junior members Our Girls U18 Team won the National Plate Champions (09-10) and were the first team in the country to win successive titles in 04 and 05. Our U16 & U18 girls team reached the National Finals of the indoor for the last two seasons (13-14 & 14-15). The Girls U12 team also reached the National finals last season.


Junior sessions, open to all ages 6-18  run weekly on our two astro-turf pitch's.

 We are also part of Ipswich Sports Club, a  members only club that has over 1,500 members. This link offers us access to top class  tennis and squash facilities, as well as access to the newly refurbished Gym, Sauna, Steam Room and clubhouse at Henley Road.

    The M3's were in complete control vs Harlow on Saturday yet somehow managed to be 2-nil down at one point, when they should have been up by about 4 or 5.  They ended up pulling it back to 2-2 thanks to good work by super fast, super sub Hugo, and man of the match Toryn.
