A huge congratulations to our U14G 1st team, who today took on City of Peterborough in Round 4 of the England Hockey Tier 2 Cup. The girls put in a phenomenal performance, winning the first half 8–0. They didn’t let their standards slip in the second half and went on to secure an impressive 13–1 victory.

This exciting group of players showed exactly how effective hockey can be when you work as a team. This was evident in the confidence with which they dropped the ball back and moved it around their back line. Equally impressive was the way nearly half of their goals came from simple tap-ins, created by intelligent passing around the D rather than relying on big hits.

This group of girls is a pleasure to coach. They listen to the game plan and any tips from the coaches, then put them into practice on the pitch. Above all, they support one another, clearly enjoy playing together and lots of fun on and off the pitch.

Good luck on 1st March in the next round, girls — the final eight
