Sunday was a much different game with opponents Dragons happy to put players behind the ball and try and hit Ipswich on the break. Ipswich had a great chance for a early goal but Aylings shot was just cleared of the line. Then co-captain Emma Millar was taken down by the Dragons GK for what looked like a clear Penalty Stroke but the closet umpire did not blow and Ipswich were once more left frustrated. Ipswich were then indebted to player of the match Ali Barham in goal for a fantastic one on one save that ensured the score remained at 0-0.
The home side showed flashes of their normal flowing game and half time saw them aim to regroup. Despite the fact that Ipswich had not converted they were creating chance after chance and it seemed only a matter of time before they broke through. Sure enough it was 10 minutes into the second half when Lizzy Wheelhouse scored her 15th goal of the season. Dragons however were battling hard and only some hard work by Ipswich kept them out. Then with 10 minutes to go Kat Blake extended their lead, a neat move from a PC. Ipswich were now in control and India Goodman sealed the 3-0 win with her goal.
The league now has a weekend off before Ipswich travel to 3rd place Wapping for another tough test.
