Next season, I look forward to finding our very own statistician. An Ipswich OPTA type person, or maybe someone studying maths a-level or o-level or GCSEs. It's a short weekly job, checking results, who's scored, games played, won, loss etc. and it's available in seconds via GMS. GMS gets a bit of an unfair battering IMO, it helps ensure teams aren't dodgy (I remember many a complaint on the back of a match card), it means no fines for late submission and all the results are there in hours. GMS will catch up eventually and realise that the user experience needs fixing and moreoever, they are sitting on a wealth of stats that on the whole sportsfolk enjoy.

Here's my ask of you - can you help find our Statguru for season 2024-25?

The stats season to date show what we expected, its tough growing to 10 teams and keeping 5 teams in newly promoted leagues, but we're certainly giving it everything and every team, players, parent and member should be proud. I keep saying it, but the juniors are now coming through at pace and will make such a difference in the long run. 6 teams for each sex next year.
