With half-term just around the corner, Ipswich's sides signed off the latest league programme with plenty to celebrate. Five wins, one draw and five defeats across the club told a story of mixed fortunes, but at the top end there is plenty of blue and white optimism.

The headline act came from the club's flagship teams. The Women's 1st XI continued their outstanding start to the season with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Cambridge City 3, a result that keeps them perched proudly at the summit of the Premier Division. Not to be outdone, the Men's 1st XI produced the performance of the weekend, dismantling Bedford 1 by an emphatic 6-1 scoreline to remain top of their table.

Elsewhere, there were important victories for the Women's 3rd XI and Women's 5th XI, both recording disciplined 1-0 wins, while the Men's 4th XI continued their impressive campaign with another 1-0 success to hold onto first place in Division 4 NE.

There was less joy for some of the development and lower sides, with narrow defeats for the Men's 2nd XI and Men's 5th XI and a tough afternoon for the Men's 3rd XI. The Men's 6th XI at least earned a point in a goalless local derby against Ipswich-East Suffolk 5 Development.

As the season pauses for half-term, both the Men's 1st XI and Women's 1st XI sit top of their respective leagues, providing a strong platform for the winter months ahead.

Sponsors Day - Pie & Pint Special

Make sure November 7th is firmly in the diary. Ipswich Hockey Club hosts its annual Sponsors Day Pie and Pint event alongside two huge home fixtures, with the Men's 1st XI pushing back at 3.00pm and the Women's 1st XI at 4.45pm.

Tickets are available now on Pitchero BUY HERE. Please book early. We need numbers to order the pies and, more importantly, we'd love to pack the clubhouse and create a fantastic atmosphere for two of the club's title-chasing sides.

See you there. #bleedblue ??
