Firstly, a massive thank you to all those who have umpired season to date and to Vic Shelley who is Maestro of all things umpiring along with Claire Miller, pulling all the fixtures strings.

The reality is though, we need more umpires across the club so we would like to ask you help out. Why would you umpire: you get paid, you can help family, friends and teammates, it’s fun and it’s a good skill to have in your locker. You don’t even need to be a hockey player!

To begin you will need to take a very basic online course that lasts 2 hours. There are slots available in October and they can be booked here: https://hockeyhub.englandhockey.co.uk/events?search=+level+1

As per my previous message all we are asking is that a few more people volunteer and just umpire 1 match a season, that’s it, nothing more! Carrots galore, not sticks. Can you help?
