Latest positions for the club's teams as we approach the season climax

Match reports have been in noticeably short supply this season. One suspects we are a club far keener to put pen to paper in the glow of victory than in the more sobering light of defeat. Nonetheless, with three fixtures remaining after what has felt, at times, like a season of considerable length, it seems an apt moment to take stock of where each side stands—and what, realistically, remains to play for.

Promotion, it has to be said, may elude Ipswich entirely this year. Yet that is not to say the closing weeks will be devoid of intrigue.

The Men’s 1s, the club’s standard-bearers, have performed with admirable resilience. They sit poised in second, still—mathematically at least—in contention for the East Premier crown. But they need Blueharts to falter twice, and fortune, which deserted them at key junctures earlier in the year, will need to belatedly change its mood.

At the other end of the table, the Women’s 3s—having risen last season—appear set for an immediate return from whence they came. The Women’s 4s may yet join them, unless they can summon three flawless performances from their final three outings. It is a stern ask, though not an impossible one.

The Men’s 3s, who share a division with the Men’s 2s, have steadied themselves sufficiently that a victory against Colchester 2s today should more or less secure their safety. Meanwhile, the club's development teams have been superb this year —spirited, cohesive, and a pleasure to watch. They deserve every commendation.

The Women’s 2s, too, have staged an eye-catching resurgence. They are not entirely out of the woods, but there is a sense of upward movement about them—momentum that might, if maintained, steer them clear of danger.

Beyond the senior sides, attention shifts to the Juniors, with Suffolk finals stretching across the coming two weekends for the U10 and U12 boys and girls. Expectation is that both age groups will progress to April’s East Finals. The Boys’ U14s have a cup fixture on Sunday, while the Girls’ U14s carry the added distinction of a national T2 semi-final berth—a fine achievement in itself.

What follows is the state of play across the club:
