The sun shone brightly at a glorious evening at Jimmy’s Farm last week as over 100 members joined us for our end of season dinner. It was a season that saw 13,020 minutes of match play, over 100,000 miles on the road, 250 training sessions, 300 sets of new kit, over 2,000 teas and 10,000 drinks all leading to 576 goals, 115 wins in 186 matches, zero relegations, 4 promotions and now 2 teams in the national league.
Our hosts laid on a spectacular evening and I must say it was a rather special venue – fine food and drink (albeit I might also say too much for some!).
The award winners were as follows:
U18 Female Junior Player of the Year: Jess Logan
U18 Junior Player of the Year: Oscar Taylor / Freddie Beales
Umpiring Award: Andy Flett / Andrew Woods
Men’s Golden Stick: Craig Wiid
Ladies Golden Stick: Chloe Williams
Ladies 5s Player of the Season: Helena Jarvis
Ladies 4s Player of the Season: Harriet Rutterford
Ladies 3s Player of the Season: Megan Palmer
Ladies 2s Player of the Season: Kate Wingar
Ladies 1s Player of the Season: Ali Barham / Holly Dring-Richardson
Men’s 4s Player of the Season: Ant Harper
Men’s 3s Player of the Season: Anthony Youngman
Men’s 2s Player of the Season: Jon Card (JC)
Men’s 1s Player of the Season: Flynn Wagland
Unsung Club Hero: James Richards (Stretch)
Ladies Club Player of the Season: Sarah Logan
Men’s Club Player of Season: Craig Wiid
Club Person of the Season: Richard Rutterford (Foxy)
The party went well on into the evening and it was a perfect way to finish the season – thank you Kate Wingar for organising the event and the awards and of course thank you to Seven for their continued support and sponsorship of the club.
So what happens now? Well to be honest, there doesn’t seem to be too much down time…summer league courtesy of Sarah Logan is up and running and pre-season work began in earnest last night with a planning session at Tuddenham Road.
Best, Wardy
Please look out this week for an update about your new committee, vacancies and pre-season. On we go!
