Summer League Match Report

Ipswich 2's v East Bergholt Result: won 11-3 (E Baker (3), T Murphy, K Waddleton J Gray (5), H Golding 1))

Ipswich 2's got off to a flyer in their first summer league game. From the off Ipswich moved the ball well through the team and with the defence of Katherine Ross, Kirsten Spencer, J Osborne and Sam Mortenson looking water tight it was left up to the forward to run riot. Ipswich created chance after chance and even though the Bergholt team defended with vigour they could not stop Ipswich hammering in 11 goals. A clean sheet was on the cards until Ipswich seemed to switch off in the last 12 minutes. Down to 10 players Ipswich let down their guard, Spencer was guilty of dwelling on the ball too long and the Bergholt forward stole the ball to slip it under GK Hannah Robinson. Bergholt now pushed forward and scored twice before the final whistle. A good entertaining game.
