Ipswich Hockey Club has always seen the benefits
of playing Indoor Hockey and as such has encouraged participation at all levels. The
Women's 1st team participate in the Indoor English Hockey League Premier Division,
while the lower teams enter into the Suffolk Indoor League. The
Suffolk League runs from October through to March and Ipswich are current
holders of the Cup Title. The
English National League runs over 2 weekends in January and culminates in a top
4 play-off final at the NIA in Birmingham. The final is shown live on SKY TV and
is normally supported by over 3,000 spectators. Ipswich
have gone close to claiming the title in recent years, they were runners up in
2005 and losing semi finalists in 2006 & 2007. In
2008 they were runners up in the Suffolk Sports Awards Category Team of the Year
