Ipswich made a good start toward finals night at
Crystal Palace. In the opening game the team out-played Leicester.
Strong performances from Lizzie Aldous and Jo Ellis allowed Ipswich to
dominate the attack. Hannah Robinson, in goal, improved throughout the
match and made some fine reaction saves. The final result, 9-3
demonstrated the scoring abilities of the team. Chelmsford though proved
a tougher opposition and the quality of their set pieces made it
difficult for the Suffolk squad. It was an aggressive game with Ipswich
having more chances in open play but not putting them away. Chelmsford
eventually came out on top 10-6. Sunday saw Ipswich gain a full 6 points
against Liverpool and St Austell. Leisa King showed her class throughout
and, Tanya Barnard consistently scored from the narrowest of angles. In
defence Emma Muir, Colleen Adcock and Karla Waddleton were stoic, and
Ipswich finished the weekend in 3rd place.
