Pelicans  v Ipswich

Result: Won 3-1

Scorers: (N Davies (2), A Sherring)

Ipswich squad:( Anna Sherring, Rebecca Christie, Charlotte Christie, Emily Williams, Lilly Broughton, Beth Scott (c), Kate Watson, Grace Richmond, Alice Youngman, Izzy Watts, Steph Allen, Amy Walters, Nana Davies)

Ipswich started strongly passing the ball around with fluency and putting a lot of pressure on the Pelicans defence. A number of shots went narrowly wide and three short corners failed to make their mark, but the ball barely entered the Ipswich defensive half. After twenty minutes the deadlock was finally broken with a close range goal by Nana Davies. The second came five minutes later, the ball worked up the right driven round the back by Steph Allen who found a well-positioned Nana Davies on the penalty spot to make it 2-0. In the second half Pelicans began to send some long range strikes out of defence to their strikers which caused some defensive problems and after about ten minutes made it 2-1 after a goal-mouth scramble. This served as a wake-up call to Ipswich and they began to put the pressure back onto Pelicans, Kate Watson cut out a number of Pelicans long balls intended for their strikers. Ipswich finished the game with about 12 minutes to go courtesy of a well-struck short corner strike by Anna Sherring which hit the post and spun back into the goal.

IES  v Ipswich

Result: Won 5-1

Scorers: Foster 2, Wheaton, Whetton, Hauxwell

Ipswich started this years campaign with a convincing win over local rivals IES. Foster using his speed was a handful for the IES defence but it was Wheaton who opened the scoring with a superb deflection from a left wing cross. Whetton ghosted forward to flick high into the net before Foster bagged his 2 goals.

Second half was a much closer affair, IES getting a goal back before Hauxwell fired home from the top of the circle. Ipswich continued to create chances but failed to convert, their best chance coming when Glading's penalty flick was saved.

Norwich City  v Ipswich

Result: Won 6-2

Scorers: Christian (3), Bond, Jan, Gallagher

Ipswich under 18 boys ran out convincing winners in the end against a useful Norwich City side who had done very well last season in this competition, ie HA under 18 Cup. Ipswich dominated the early exchanges but without creating too many chances. Christian converted 2 superb efforts however, and just before half time Hearne brilliantly rounded the keeper but was scythed down. The home umpire decided that the GK had to go, and after a delay whilst another keeper padded up Alex Bond coolly converted the PF. As Ipswich relaxed Norwich broke to put themselves back in the game seconds before half time.

Ipswich came out for the second half in confident mood, but received a rude awakening when the home team pulled a goal back and then Ipswich keeper Ben Glading made a good save to preserve their advantage. Ipswich pulled themselves together and regained the initiative, Jan scoring from a very acute angle, Christian completing his hat trick converting a PF after he was fouled in the act of shooting, and then Ben Gallagher completed the scoring with a superb strike from the top of the circle.
