Ipswich kick off
season with eighth successive Suffolk Cup triumph
A
2-0 win over Lowestoft in the Women’s Suffolk
Cup Final saw Ipswich claim the Outdoor title for the ninth time and
also do the indoor and outdoor double over the beaten finalists.
Lizzy
Aldous scored both goals in the final but it was the performance of the
youngsters in the team that were the highlight of the day. Annabelle Driver
and Phoebe Walker were both playing in their first Suffolk final but turned
in performances that impressed the spectators.
16 year old Beth Scott was playing in her second cup final and her
assured display as left defender was a vital role in the winning team.
Ipswich’s
Captain goalkeeper Claire Gould was proud to continue Ipswich’s winning
success and received the Cup from Suffolk President Ken Green

Ken
Green presenting Claire Gould with the Cup
Gould
was very happy with the team saying
“Lowestoft gave us a good game but we were determined to retain our title.
I would like to thank the umpires who did a great job and also Lucy
Gallagher who has worked tirelessly organizing the Tournament.”
