Men's 1's player

28th September- Men's start with 3 points and Women 1's win Derby game.

 

The Men 1's got of to a good start with a 2-1 win over Bishops Stortford.  The  2's however were hit hard losing 8-0 to Cambridge City. The 3's also lost 4-2 to Market Deeping at home. The 4's lost heavily 7-1 to Harleston 3's away, whilst the.  5's lost 3-1 to Harleston 6's at home.

 

The Women 1's had the result of the weekend, beating Chelmsford 4-2 in a typical derby game. The Women 2's cruised to a 4-0 win over Cambridge City 2's and head the table.  The 3's earned a good point with a 3-3 draw at Norwich Dragons.  The 4's game v IES 3's was conceded by IES  The 5's lost 4-1 to Christchurch 2's away.


24th September- Men's seasons kicks off as Women face derby game

 

The Men 1's start life back in the East League with a home game against Bishops Stortford. After a good win int he cup last weekend  the team have high hopes of a good season ahead. The  2's have a very hard away game v recently relegated Cambridge City. The 3's play Market Deeping at home. The 4's play Harleston 3's away, whilst the.  5's play Harleston 6's at home.

 

The Women 1's welcome Chelmsford to Tuddenham Road for a tough derby clash. The Women 2's will be looking to build on last weeks win with another good result against Cambridge City 2's.  The 3's face a tough trip to Norwich Dragons.  The 4's game v IES 3's ahs been conceded by IES  The 5's play Christchurch 2's away.


20th September- Women start season in style

 

The Women 1's gained a point with a 1-1 draw v Old Loughtonians but know that after totally dominating the game they should have had all 3 points. It was a very positive display form this young team and bodes well for the coming season. The Women 2's beat Bury St Edmunds 4-3 after a rocky start and look a very gifted side. The 3's destroyed UEA. 6-0, whilst the  The 4's recorded the highest win of the opening weekend with a 12-0 hammering of Sudbury 3's. The 5's also had a high scoring game smashing in 8, with no reply against Grasshopper 2's at home.


20th September- Men march into cup 2nd round

 

The Men 1's beat Wapping 3-1 to claim a spot in the EH cup 2nd round. they now face a tricky tie against National League Holcombe on 4th October.


15th September- Women's leagues kick off

After a long hard pre-season the Women 1's start their campaign to earn promotion back into the Premier League with a tough home game against Old Loughtonians.  The Women 2's also looking for promotion into East Prem, play Bury St Edmunds at home. The 3's who just missed out on promotion to Div1  last year will start with an away game v the students at UEA. The 4's also have an away game at Sudbury 3's, whilst the 5's play Grasshopper 2's at home.


9th September- Fixtures List

 

The 2009-2010 Fixture list is now available. The Fixture Card will be out early next week.

 


8th September- Club Day

 

Saturday saw a good turn out of members young and old at Henley Road as the new Hockey season sprang into life.

 

For both 1st teams their were rewards for their hard pre-season work, with the Men's 1's beating Wapping 9-3 and the Women 1's drawing with Barmes 1-1. The Women's 2's also started well with a 2-1 win over IES.

 

Pre-season training continues for all teams as the countdown to league action start. The Women's teams start on the 19th September with the Men starting a week later on the 26th.
