Ladies
4's get Ducky!
Ipswich
Ladies fours are sporting ducks on their shirt sleeves this
season, thanks to new local sponsors Green Label Foods,
producer of the nationally renowned Gressingham duck.
Nareen
Fenton, captain of the fours and sales account manager at
Green Label says: “I am ecstatic that my company is
sponsoring us. With
schools not playing hockey as often as they used to, awareness
of the sport is declining and it is becoming more of a
challenge to attract financial support.
“I
am therefore delighted that Green Label has agreed to sponsor
our shirts for the forthcoming season and I will no doubt keep
my directors and colleagues informed of our progress
throughout the year.”
Ipswich
Ladies Fours will make regular appearances in Green Label’s
staff newsletter, as well as on its website, so they could
attract new supporters from all over the country!
Green
Label Foods is the exclusive producer of the Gressingham Duck.
It is based near Woodbridge in Suffolk. Further
information can be found at www.greenlabel.co.uk.

Women
start on perfect note
Ipswich
Women's 1st team gained a modicum of revenge over last
seasons nemesis Leicester, as they defeated the visitors
3-0. In a almost perfect start to the season a new look
Ipswich could not be happier with their new recruits. Fielding
5 new players from last season there was always a danger
that this Ipswich side would take time to gel but Saturday's
display proved that the team are already on the same wave
length. With 2 new players still to come into the team
things are looking good for the Suffolk team.

Getting
ready for league action
The
majority of teams were in action at the weekend getting ready
for the new league season.
The
Women's 2's played national League side Bedford and gave a
very good account of themselves. While their visitors were
missing a few regular players it does not take away from a
fine team performance from the new look Ipswich side, a bit
better composure from Ipswich in the circle would have seen
the home side score at least 2 goals.
The
3's took on local rivals IES and lost 4-2, with several new
players and a very young Goal keeper this was a good game for
the home side.
The
4's battled to a 1-1 draw with Grasshoppers 2's and seem to
have discovered a new group of good keen players.
The
men's 1st team, beat Cambridge University 1-0 and Bishop
Stortford 4-0 as they continue their preparation for national League.
The 2's beat Harleston 2's 4-, while the 4's recorded their
first win in a year beating Harleston 5's 2-1.
The
Women's 1st team kick off the official League campaign on Saturday
with a home game against last years Champions Leicester.
