Women
win 9 goal thriller, as all men's sides also win
The Women's 1st Team last
scored 5 goals against Clifton back in December 2005
when they won 6-0, this time they let the West Country team
score 4 but it was the Suffolk side that again took the points
with a cracking 5-4 win. Jess Bloom scored a brace, her first
Slazenger Premier League goals and Claire Gould also made her
National league debut, a string of impressive saves keeping the
home side in it in the second half. The Women 2's
lost 4-0 to Wisbech and will be disappointed
as they controlled the first hal but could not find the killer
touch in front of goal. The Women
3's bounced back to joint
top of NE14hockey.com East Div 2 central with a 4-2 win over Yarmouth. The 4's
got back to winning ways with a 4-0 win over Lowestoft 2's side
The 5's
lost 5-0 to Felixstowe 2's.
The Men 1's
did not have a game. The Men's 2's
beat Dereham 3-2 to climb into 3rd place. The Men's
3's also won 7-2 against Felixstowe
to climb to 2nd place. The 4's

Men
enjoy a break while Women need 3 points.
The Women's 1st Team welcome
newly promoted Clifton to Tuddenham Road on Saturday and now
that anything short of a win will not be good enough.
Clifton though are on a 3 game winning streak and will be a
tough side to beat. Ipswich will be without Kirsten
Spencer (knee injury) and Millie Sharp but welcome
back last seasons top goal scorer Jenny Hall. The Women 2's
have been playing well but have
missed out on the points. This sat they face Wisbech. The Women
3's lost for the first time
last weekend so will be keen to get back to winning ways
against a Yarmouth side with 1 win. The 4's
have not won a game since the first league weekend but will be
looking to pick up 3 points against a Lowestoft 2's side that
have yet to register a win. The 5's
play Felixstowe 2's, who sit 1 place below them.
The Men 1's
do not have a game. The Men's 2's
face a tricky game against 4th placed Dereham but a win would
see them climb above the Norfolk side. The Men's
3's face Felixstowe who are only
2 points behind them. The 4's
face Felixstowe 2's who have only 1 win and you get the
feeling that another Olly Holloway hat trick is on the cards.
The 5's are
3 points of the leaders and face 2nd bottom side Norwich City
6's. The Vets
face a tough game against Chelmsford.

U16
Call up for Hunnable, as Pinner gets first GB cap.
Ipswich's
15 year old Chloe Hunnable was rewarded for her good display
at the Regional Tournament with a England U16 trail.
Good luck!
Also
getting his first cap is ex-Ipswich keeper George Pinner.
Pinner though is in the unusual position of getting a GB cap before
an England one as he was part of the GB squad that lost to the
Netherlands 3-1 yesterday. Well done George we hope you
get many more.

Pinner

Women
1's have busy weekend of league and Cup games, Men face home
test.
The Men 1's
play only their second game of the season this Saturday,
welcoming 3rd placed Sevenoaks to Tuddenham Road. The Kent
side has only lost 1 game so far and will prove a stern test
for Ipswich, but the Suffolk team will relish home
surroundings and will be keen to get back to winning ways. The Men's 2's
face Harpenden, who sit 1 point ahead of them and will be
looking to build on last weeks good win. The Men's
3's face an unbeaten City of
Peterborough side just above them and also will want to build
on last weeks great win over IES.. The 4's
sit top of the table and face bottom side UEA 3's, a higher
score than 14-0 is possible!. The 5's lost
for the first time last week so will be keen to get back to
winning ways as they face Norfolk Nomads 2's. The Vets
face a tough test in unbeaten Pelicans but are keen to retain their
title.
The Women's 1st Team travel
to bottom of the table Olton and know that they need a win.
Despite Olton's position this will not be an easy game for
Ipswich and they will need to be on top form to get a result. The
Women 2's also
face a tough game, away to Canterbury 2's. The Women
3's are not finding life too
tough for them in East Div 2 as they top the table with a 100%
record. This weekend they play 3rd placed Stevenage so things
might get a bit tricky. The 4's
need a win to turn them around and but face a tough game
against unbeaten Haverhill. The 5's

both play well but lose, but Women 3's and Men 4's sit top of
the table.
The
Women's 1st Team outplayed
league leaders Bowdon Hightown on Saturday for the majority of
the game but still came away with nothing, losing 3-1. A frustrating
result but one that the team can build on as they travel to
bottom of the table Olton next weekend. The Women 2's
lost 2-1 to Bury St Edmunds in a scrappy game. The Women
3's moved 3 points clear at
the top of the East Div 2 with a 2-1 win over Bury St Edmund's 2nd team. The 4's
lost 3-2 to Grasshoppers away and will be disappointed with
the result. The 5's

played some good disciplined hockey. The Men's 2's
got off the mark against Havering wining 6-1. The Men's

2-1 win over IES. The 4's
had the result of the day hammering
Holt Harlequins 14-0 to move to the top of the East Div4NE
table. The 5's though

Women 1's
face leaders, while Men aim to shut down Matthews.
The
Women's 1st Team welcome
league leaders Bowdon Hightown to Tuddenham Road on Saturday
and know that they will have to turn in a much better performance
than last week if they want to upset the form book. Emma
Lee-Smith is welcomed back into the squad, after missing last weeks
game due to her Army commitments. The Women 2's
welcome Bury St Edmunds to Tud rd, Bury lost 10-0 to the 1st
team last week in the Cup and the 2's will be keen to carry on
that winning feeling. The Women
3's seem unstoppable at present
and will relish the chance to carry on their winning run against
Bury St Edmund's 2nd team. The 4's
need to get back on track this week as they play Grasshoppers
away. The 5's
do not have a game.
The Men 1's
continue their mammoth run of away games with a tricky match
against 2nd placed Holcombe. The Kent side have signed ex-England
and Canterbury player Dave Matthews and he will prove a threat
on set pieces. The squad welcome back Richard Stainthorpe, who
has been playing in Australia for the last 3 months. The Men's 2's
need to get a win under thier belts and will be aiming to get
the points against Havering. The Men's

game and it should be a cracker. The 4's
continue to win and this week play Holt Harlequins. The 5's

Women
get home draw
The
Women's 1st Team will
be pleased to have got another home draw in the cup. This time
they welcome South Div 1 side Wimbledon to Tuddenham Road on
Sunday 21st October. Wimbledon used to play in Div 1 of the
Slazenger EHL but over the past 2 years slipped out of the
league and are back in Regional Competition. That experience
though will be beneficial for them come this tie and Ipswich
will be sure to enter the game in the right frame of
mind. Ex-Ipswich player Katie Leech will also be making
the trip to Suffolk and it was her golden goal for her current
club that ensured the London side entered the 3rd round draw.

Sunday.
The

suffered a heavy 8-2 loss to league leaders Exeter University,

Ipswich now sit in 5th place with 9 points but amazingly all
have come from away games, boding well for the run of home
games to come. The Men's 2's
lost a tight game 2-1 to St Albans and will be even more disappointed
with the result as the conceded the winner in the dying
seconds of the game. The Men's

will be ahppy to get their first points on the board. The 4's
put in another impressive performance beating Pelicans 3's

at training this week. On Sunday the team took out their frustrations
on Bury
St Edmunds in the Cup, hammering their fellow Suffolk Club
10-0. The Women 2's
lost 2-1 to Sudbury but were pleased with several of the
younger players performances. The Women

Central table after a 7-1 demolition Sudbury 2's. The 4's
lost 2-1 to
Harwich while the 5's
