Women 1's player

15th November - Women 1's grab a point, Men 1's win and  Juniors smash opposition

 

The Women 1's travelled to leaders Surbiton with a small squad but came back with a well won point. They remain in 2nd place 1 point behind their hosts. The  2's lost 5-1 to Bromley and Beckingham.  The  3's also lost 2-1 to local rivals IES. The  4ths also lost 1-0 to castaways but the  5's won beating Bury St Edmunds 3's 2-1.

 

The Men 1's got a good 6-2 win over West Herts. The  2's also won 3-2 over Colchester. The 3's narrowly lost 2-1 to Dereham 3's and the  4's lost 6-1 to Norwich City 3's The  vets though won 3-0 over Bury St Edmunds.

 

Sunday saw the Girls and Women's Vets in cup action. All were victorious! The U16 girls beat Harleston away 4-1, the U18 girls thrashed Cambridge City 13-0 and the Vets won 4-1 over Colchester. Stat if the day was ex-GB player and England Captain Sandie Lister scored her first ever hat-trick in the vets game. Congratulations Sandie it was worth the wait ! The Vets now face Chelmsford in the next round.


8th November - Women 1's knock Chelmsford off the top as Men grab a point.

 

The Women 1's won the local derby bragging rights with a 2-1 victory against Chelmsford. It was the Essex sides first loss of the season and saw the slip from top spot to 3rd whilst Ipswich moved into 2nd place. The  2's also grabbed a great win, a 1-0 victory over Canterbury 2's.  The  3's narrowly lost out 4-3 to Pelicans. The  4ths beat Bury St Edmunds 2's 1-0  to stay in 3rd place on the league unfortunately the  5's lost 3-1 to Christchurch 2's.

 

The Men 1's earned a last minute 2-2 draw with Chelmsford but would have wanted more from the game. The  2's were involved in another high scoring game, this time  a 6-6 draw with Brentwood. The 3's drew 0-0 with Pelicans but the  4's lost 7-1 to Norwich Dragons. The  vets game v Cambridge is still not in but they hammered 15 goals past Chelmsford in the Over 40's cup on Sunday winning 15-2 to progress into the next round where they face Holcombe at home on the 5th December.


8th November - 5 Ipswich Juniors get the England call

 

Lowri Davies, Kitty McWhirter and Fran Tew were part of the Saxon Tigers U16 squad that recently won the Futures cup. Their good performances have meant they are now selected for a trail with the England U16 squad.

Also selected for England U18 trails are Faye Curran and Hannah Martin.

18th October -Women 1's win Suffolk Senior Team of the Year

The Women 1's attended the Suffolk Sports awards on Sunday 17th October at Trinity Park and were very proud to be named Suffolk Senior Team of the Year.

 

The 1st Team won the EHL East Conference last season, only losing 1 game and have played at the highest level of their sport for over 20 years.

 

Congratulations to all involved, you should be very proud of your achievements.
