The Ladies 2's had to cancel their game against Canterbury 2's due to severe unavailability due to illness.  The  Men's 2's suffered the worst defeat of the day losing 9-1 to 2nd place Peterborough Town in a tough game. Ladies  1's need goals against Sutton, while Men can move clear

The Ladies 1's face a run of 3 games where they play the bottom 3 teams and know that they cannot afford to slip up. This weekend sees them travel to Sutton Coldfield to play the leagues bottom team and nothing but a large win will be good enough. The Men's 1's play 2nd placed side Bedford and know that a win here would make them very hot favorites to take the title. The Ladies 2's face  tough away game against 3rd placed side Canterbury 2's. A battling performance is need here to grab a point at least. The  Men's 2's face 2nd place Peterborough Town in a tough game. The Ladies 3's keen to get back into action after missing out due to the freeze last weekend  play local rivals and league leaders Sudbury, this has some extra special meaning as the Sudbury team include 2 ex-Ipswich 1st team players and with the leaders losing last week as well Ipswich will be looking forward to the game. The Men's 3's keen to get a second win face March town who are 2 places above them in the league. The Ladies 4's will be looking to rediscover the joys of hockey after last weeks dismal result when they play East Bergholt, the bottom side. The Men's 4's also missed out last week because of the weather play mid-table Sudbury 2's. The Men's 5's another weather victim play mid-table Sudbury 3's  Finally the Men's Vets play Waveney.

Sunday sees the girls U17 play another Sudbury side in the Suffolk U17 League.

22nd November 2004

Ladies  1's move up to 3rd as Men seem invincible.

The Ladies 1's moved up to 3rd with a 2-0 win over Clifton at home on Saturday. With their remaining 3 games against the bottom three the hopes are high that they can consolidate their position in the run up to the Christmas break. The Men's 1's carried on their winning ways with a 3-1 victory over the tenacious Crostyx, their next game is against 2nd placed side Bedford and a win there would make the table look very good indeed. The Ladies 2's know they could and should have got 3 points against Harleston 2's but had to settle for 1 point with a 3-3 draw. The vital point sees them move out of the relegation zone but it is still very tight. The  Men's 2's also had to settle for a 2-2 draw v Colchester the home side scoring in the last minute. The Ladies 3's had a weekend off as Harleston postponed the game due to the cold snap. The Men's 3's could not get another win and lost 3-1 to Norwich Union 2's which sees there opponents move 5 points clear of them. The Ladies 4's had the hardest game of the day travelling to Lowestoft with only 9 players and a new teenage GK, they lost 10-1 but deserve high praise for rather playing the fixture than canceling it. The Men's 4's match was postponed against  Redbridge & Ilford 2's. The Men's 5's match was also postponed against  Maldon and Little Baddow 4's. Finally the Men's Vets neat local rivals Bury 4-1.

Sunday saw the Girls U15 lose 4-0 to  Norwich City away in the Cup, while the U18 lost 2-1 v Dereham despite being camped in the oppositions circle.. The U15 boys thrashed Chelmsford 11-2 , while the U18's suffered a heavy 10-3 defeat to Chelmsford at Home.

Some good results for the top 2 sides, with the weather hitting the lower teams. A great win for the boys U15's, the remaining sides will look forward to the plate competitions.

18th November 2004

Ladies  1's need to keep winning as men face toughest test so far. Junior sides also in cup action.

The Ladies 1's know that they need to build on last weekend good win and take 3 points form their home game against 7th placed Clifton on Saturday.  With the 2 teams above, Slough and Leicester, playing each other Ipswich know that a win would see them move up into 4th place at least and if results go their way ,maybe even 3rd. However they cannot afford to take the Bristol based side lightly and need to be fully alert to their dangers.

The  Men's 1's also face a tough test playing 3rd placed Crostyx. The games between the 2 sides are normally very close passionate affairs and Ipswich will want to stamp their authority on the game early on. The Ladies 2's know that they need to get 3 points against local rivals Harleston 2's to move them out of the relegation zone. The  Men's 2's will want to build on their mid-table place as they play local rivals Colchester who are bottom of the table with only 1 win to their name. The Ladies 3's also have a local derby this time playing away at Harleston 3's. Harleston sit in the mid table 4 points behind Ipswich and it is bound to be a close game. The Men's 3's buoyed by their first win play Norwich Union 2's who only sit 1 point ahead of them, a victory here would place some welcome daylight between the 3's and the bottom 2.The Ladies 4's travel to Lowestoft to face their 2's and know they are in for a hard game. The Men's 4's are still looking for that first win and play Redbridge & Ilford 2's. The Men's 5's will be hoping to get a game this week as they tackle Maldon and Little Baddow 4's. Finally the Men's Vets will also be hoping to get a game against local rivals Bury.

Sunday sees the Junior teams take the stage. The Girls U15 face Norwich City away in the Cup, while the U18 play Dereham away. The U15 boys face Chelmsford away, while the U18's have Chelmsford at Home.

Good luck to all teams let's hope we can get some more consistent results.

Men vets get Canterbury away in Cup 4th round.

The Men's Vets disappointed not to get a game in the previous round after opponents Holcombe pulled out face a difficult away game v last years quarter finalists and winners in 2003 ,Canterbury, on 16th January 2005.

Canterbury can also boast the Olympic gold medal winner Sean Kerly in their side and there is no doubt that Ipswich will have a tough task ahead.

15th November 2004

Ladies  1's back in the swing, as men see off West Herts.

The Ladies 1's were determined to get 3 points against Bowdon Hightown and get themselves back in contention with the leading pack. They achieved their aims with a clinical 2-0 victory over last years league winners.

The  Men's 1's kept marching on their winning way with a 3-1 victory over west Herts. The Ladies 2's slipped to rock bottom of the east Prem league with a 3-1 loss to Dereham. The  Men's 2's claimed a good win against Norwich City to move them up to mid table safety. The Ladies 3's slipped to a 4-1 loss to Southend.. The Men's 3's finally found the right ingredient to  record their first win, a superb victory over 3rd placed local rivals Sudbury.. The Ladies 4's could not find  a way past Carlton park 2's and lost 4-0 The Men's 4's were thee only men's side to lose as they struggled against a Chelmsford 4's side at home on a waterbased pitch.. The Men's 5's game against Ford 2's was postponed. Finally the Men's Vets game v Dereham on Saturday was cancelled so they played the Men's 5's winning 8-1.  Holcombe pulled out of the Vet's Cup on Sunday so the men make it through to round 3.

Great weekend for the men's side especially the 3's who are finally adjusting to life in a new division.  Good result for  Ladies 1's but other sides need to start getting some more points on the board.

8th November 2004

Ladies  1's aim to get back to winning ways as men target west Herts.

The Ladies 1's need to shake off the disappointment of last weekend as they make the long trip North to play5th placed  Bowdon Hightown. Hightown are 1 place ahead of Ipswich but have played an extra game and with 2nd placed Canterbury, playing 3rd placed Slough a win for the Suffolk club could see them right back in the hunt.

The  Men's 1's should keep up their winning run as they face a West Herts side with only 2 wins to it's name, with a game in hand things are looking good for the team. The Ladies 2's face Norfolk side Dereham on Saturday and with the teams only separated by 1 point it is vital that the Suffolk side get 3 points to move them up the table. The  Men's 2's also need a win against mid table Norwich City. The Ladies 3's hot on the heels of 2nd place face 5th placed Southend. The Men's 3's  face 3rd placed local rivals Sudbury in a tough game. The Ladies 4's play 4th placed Carlton park 2's and will be looking for a win. The Men's 4's have a difficult game on 2nd placed Chelmsford's 4's water based pitch. The Men's 5's face a Ford 2's side that are only 3 points ahead of them and a win here would see them move out of the relegation zone. Finally the Men's Vets have a double header weekend, playing Dereham on Saturday and then tackling Holcombe in the Vet's Cup on Sunday.

This weekend is an ideal opportunity for several teams to bounce back and get some vital wins.

8th November 2004

Ladies  1's double blow but Men keep winning.

The Ladies 1's had a disappointing weekend, losing to Leicester 1-0 on Saturday in the league then eventually going out to a golden goal against Canterbury in the Cup. The team did not play well against Leicester but can take heart from a much better performance on Sunday in what was a Classic Cup tie.

The  Men's 1's kept their unbeaten run going with a  3-1 win over Cambridge City and sit proud at the top of the table.  The Ladies 2's slipped alarmingly down the table as the lost 2-1 to Crostyx.  The  Men's 2's lost out 4-1 to 3rd placed Cambridge Uni 2's and are also slipping down towards the wrong end of the table.. The Ladies 3's gave the Women's teams something to cheer as they beat Colchester 2-1 to move into 3rd place 1 point behind 2nd. The Men's 3's  grabbed their 2nd point of the season with a4-4 draw over local rivals IES 1's. Not the win they wanted but an importunate point. The Ladies 4's faced  Stour valley and lost out 4-1. The Men's 4's could not get the win they so badly needed and lost 3-0 Crostyx 3's. The Men's 5's game against Thurrock 2's was cancelled .Finally the Men's Vets were in frine form winning 4-2 over Colchester.

Disappointment for the Ladies 1's and not great results for the majority of teams except the lades 3's and Men's 1's and Vet's.

4th November 2004

Ladies  1's aim for 5th win and another KO of Canterbury, as Men defend unbeaten tag.

The Ladies 1's have a busy weekend ahead of them as they face 5th placed Leicester at home on Saturday and then take on Canterbury in the Cup on Sunday.  2 Big games and both could provide plenty of fireworks!

The  Men's 1's  will be looking for another high scoring victory over a Cambridge City side that only won it's first game last weekend.  The Ladies 2's will want to turn good performances into points as they travel to Crostyx.  The  Men's 2's need to build on their draw as they play 3rd placed Cambridge Uni 2's. The Ladies 3's face local rivals Colchester in a tough game but a win here would see them move above the Essex side into 3rd place at least. The Men's 3's  need to bounce back form their heartache of last weekend as they play local rivals IES in a bottom of the table battle, a win here would move them out of the relegation zone. The Ladies 4's fresh form their first win of the season play 7th placed Stour valley and win here would see them move up to mid table. The Men's 4's face fellow strugglers Crostyx 3's and really need the win. The Men's 5's so close last weekend will be aiming for 3 points this weekend as they play 5th placed Thurrock 2's .Finally the Men's Vets are back in league action against Colchester.

A big weekend for the Ladies 1's as they face league and Cup test.

1st November 2004

Ladies  1's knock Canterbury from top,  as men shoot down Pelicans.

The Ladies 1's kept their outstanding league form going with a 2-0 victory at league leaders Canterbury. It was an even more impressive win as the team did not play to their full potential. The Ladies 2's played another outstanding game but again were unlucky to come out 3-2 losers to 2nd placed Sevenoaks .

The  Men's 1's stayed top with a great 8-3 victory over lowly Pelicans.  The  Men's 2's should have had 3 points against local rivals Bury St Edmunds but settled for 1 in a 3-3 draw. The Ladies 3's got their 2nd win in a row with a 3-1 victory against struggling Dereham 2's to see them stay in 4th place.. The Men's 3's  were winning 5-1 at half time yet some how managed to lose 7-6 to the students from UEA. Heartbreak!. The Ladies 4's got their first win of the season a 3-2 victory over Grasshopper 2's. The Men's 4's were hit for 6 against Dunmow 2's. The Men's 5's were again so close but lost out 6-4 to Redbridge and Ilfoird 3's.Finally the Men's Vets have a weekend off.

A much better weekend for many. Congratulations to the ladies 4's for their first victory.
