Women
want to end season with Cup success, as coaches bow out.
The
Women 1's
travel to Reading to face Bowdon Hightown in the second
semi-final of the Women's Cup (14.30) In a replay of the
Indoor semi finals Ipswich will be looking to make sure that
this time it is them and not their opponents that reach the
final. With Slough playing Div 1 side Poynton it is likely
that the Berkshire side will be the team to beat in Sundays
final (12.30)
This
is also the last Ipswich game for coaches Nick Thompson and
Sandie Lister, both of whom will be stepping down. Nick has
extended player/coach duties at newly promoted Old Georgians
and Sandie will be looking to enjoy a break from the game and
practice her golf! The club and team cannot thank them
enough for the time and effort they have put in to their
roles. They will be sorely missed and hard to replace but will
maintain close links with the club.
The
Women 2's play their last league
against City of Peterborough and will want to end a fantastic
season with a good win. Promoted back to East Premier as
Champions Ipswich are looking forward to next season already!
The
Women 3's play
Yarmouth in their last league game and after a great start to
the season their from has plummeted in recent weeks. A win
here would see them secure a mid-table finish.
The
Women 4's are
newly crowned champions and will be looking to out on a show against
Felixstowe 2's. Suffolk Premier beckons next season.
The
Women 5's play
a friendly against Haverhill 2's.
The
Men's 3's play their last league
game against IES 2's and know that a win is needed to snatch
the league title out of Felixstowe's hands.
The
Men's 4's
play a friendly against Cranes
The
Men's 5's
play Carnes 2's also in a friendly fixture.
The
Vets also play their final league
game against Cambridge City, as Champions they will be looking
to end the season with a win.

Men
in seventh Heaven as they stay in National League, but Women
lose to slough.
The
Men 1's proved that they deserved
to remain in the Slazenger EHL with a 7-4 win against bottom
steam St Albans. With goalkeeper Andy Middleton pulling out
injured in the warm up, Ben Glading stepped in for his 2nd appearance
of the season. A remarkable achievement
for the young keeper who started the season in the 3's. A
great battling season by the team and hopefully one that can
be built on for next year.
The
Men 2's lost to East Premier A
Champions Cambridge University 6-1, a brave performance but
the students were in impressive form as they marched back into
the National League. The 2's finished a highly respectable
7th in a league packed full of 1st teams and are officially
the best 2nd team in the East.
The
Men's 3's lost 2-1 to 2nd placed Felixstowe
and with it also lost their league lead. However with a game
in hand Ipswich know a win next week against IES 2's would see
them claim the title on goal difference.
The
Men's 4's
do not have a game as Harleston pulled out the league.
The
Men's 5's
play Southend in a friendly. Awaiting result
The
Vets lost to 2nd placed Shefford and Sandy
but despite the result were crowned Champions.
Congratulations.
The
Women 1's
lost 3-0 to slough and finished their 2006-2007 season in 6th
place. The teams attention now turns to the Cup semi-final on Saturday
against 4th placed Bowdon Hightown.
The
Women 2's beat Lowestoft 2-0 on Saturday,
then on Sunday they fought back from 4-2 down to beat Trojans 2's
5-4 in Golden goal. They are now in the semi-finals and it
will take a good team to stop them going all the way. The
semi-final is to be played on 15th April.
The
Women 3's lost
2-1 to Sudbury 2's and are dropping dangerously close to the relegation
zone with 1 more game to play.
The
Women 4's hit
East Bergholt for 6 and were crowned Champions of Suffolk Div
1. Well done.
A
great weekend for many teams and with only 1 weekend of league
hockey left it is looking like the most successful season ever
for the club.

Men
need a point for League survival, while Women face the
runners-up.
The
Men 1's season comes down to the
last game against bottom side St Albans. Ipswich need at least
a point to remain safe and hope that Plymouth don't win by
more than 5 clear goals!
The
Men 2's face Cambridge University
in their last game. The students would have to lose by over 29
goals for them to lose out on the Championships, so Ipswich
will in effect be playing the League Champions and will be
hoping to end on a high.
The
Men's 3's play 2nd placed Felixstowe
and know that a win would secure them the League title. Even
if they lose they could till win the title as they have a game
in hand and a massive Goal difference.
The
Men's 4's
do not have a game as Harleston pulled out the league.
The
Men's 5's
play Southend in a friendly.
The
Vets travel to 2nd placed
Shefford and Sandy and also know a point would see them win
the League.
The
Women 1's
travel to league runners-up Slough for their last league game
and will be looking for their first win in Berkshire since
2000!
The
Women 2's will enjoy their game
against Lowestoft as League Champions but will also be keen to
claim another win against another Suffolk side. Then on Sunday
they welcome Trojans 2's for a 2nd team Cup quarter final
game. Ipswich are favourites on paper but will not be taking their
opponents lightly.
The
Women 3's face
Sudbury 2's and will want to end their season on a winning
note.
The
Women 4's face
East Bergholt and could be the 3rd Ipswich team crowned league
champions on Saturday.
It
could be a busy day and night at the bar if all three teams
win and the men's 1's stay up!!

Men
and Women 1's struggle but Women 2's claim Championship and
mixed march on.
The
Women 1's
travelled to Leicester with only 11 fit regular 1's players
and had to play 2nd Team Captain and defender Kathryn Wrinch
up front as a striker. The team battled hard but could not
contain a Leicester side that deserved it's 3rd title in as
many years.
The
Women 2's brought better news
from Bourne as they won 2-0 to claim the East Div 1 North title.
The win sees Ipswich promoted back to the Premier league after
an absence of 2 years.
The
Women 3's also
battled hard but lost 2-0 to league leaders Braintree.
The
Women 4's destroyed
Christchurch 5-1 to leave them on the brink of being crowned champions.

The
Men's 3's turned in the days highest

of North Walsham 2's. Owen Cook coring a fantastic 8 goals!
The
Men's 5's
play Chelmsford 5;s in a friendly. Awaiting result.
The
Vets got back to winning ways
beating City of
Peterborough7-2
The
mixed played
Riverside in the mixed trophy and won 4-3 in golden goal after
a close fought game.

Women
want to put party on hold as Men face tough battle with 2nd in
the league.
The
Women 1's
travel to Leicester for their penultimate game in the
2006-2007 Slazenger EHL Premier League. Ipswich need a win to
spoil the current champions plans of claiming their 3rd
consecutive win and know that they will have to be on top form
to achieve their aim.
The
Women 2's travel to Bourne hoping
to seal the East Div 1 North title with a win against the Lincolnshire
based side.
The
Women 3's face
a tough game at home to current league leaders Braintree.
The
Women 4's play
Christchurch this
weekend and if they win and East Bergholt B lose to Sudbury, then they will be
champions.
The
Men 1's have 2 more games left
and know that 3 points would be enough to see them play
Slazenger EHL hockey gains next season. This weekends game
will be a tough challenge as they face second placed Oxted.
The
Men 2's welcome Bedford to
Ipswich and will be hoping for more of the same from last
week.
The
Men's 3'scan move ever closer to
being crowned Champions if they beat Lowestoft Railway.
The
Men's 4's
play North Walsham 2's and know that a win there would see
them seal a 100% winning record for the season.
The
Men's 5's
play Chelmsford 5;s in a friendly.
The
Vets welcome City of
Peterborough to Ipswich and are aware that they need a couple
more wins to claim the east title.
The
mixed team
face Riverside on Sunday in the 3rd round of the mixed trophy.

Men
put in brave performance as Women are given finishing lesson.
The
Men 1's gave a brave performance
as they faced league Champions Old
Georgians. 3-0 down they could have caved in but fought back
to 3-3 before OG's pulled away to safety. The men now have two
massive games, against Oxted and St Albans, one of which they
need to win, to maintain their place in the Slazenger National
League.
The
Men 2's destroyed Chelmsford 2's
14-0 to record their biggest win of the season.
The
Men's 3's went 2 better and
outplayed Bury St Edmunds 2's
The
Men's 4's
went 2 better than the 2's and won 16-0 against Bury St Edmunds
4's, they are now only 1 game off a 100% winning season.
The
Men's 5's
play Romford 3's in a friendly.
The
Vets travelled to Kings Lynn to
play Pelicans and lost 2-0 in a game marred by some horrible
tackles.
The
Women 1's
recorded their biggest loss of the season going down 6-1 to
Bowdon Hightown. Poor finishing cost them more goals and
some deadly striking by their visitors
saw them easily take the points.
The
Women 2's beat 2nd placed
Norwich Union 3-2 and can now only be caught on goal
difference. A win next week against Bourne would see them win promotion.
The
Women 3's lost
5-2 to UEA, with 1st team player Lizzy Aldous cousin scoring a
hat-trick for the students!
The
Women 4's
played Castaways in a friendly and won 3-0. After some tricky
calculations it also transpires that the 4's have won pro
Suffolk Premier League. If the 4's beat Christchurch this
weekend and East Bergholt B lose to Sudbury, then they will be
champions. CONGRATULATIONS!

Men
look to down Champs as Women aim High.
The
Men 1's face a tough test at home
on Sunday as they welcome newly crowned league Champions Old
Georgians to Tuddenham Road. Their visitors are coached by
Ipswich Women's coach Nick Thompson which should add some
extra spice to the occasion. The last times the teams met
Ipswich lost 7-2, so a better result is aimed for.
The
Men 2's face a derby game with
Chelmsford 2's and will be keen to maintain winning ways.
The
Men's 3's also face a derby game
against Bury St Edmunds 2's, however despite securing promotion
a win is vital if they want to lift the title.
The
Men's 4's
also play a Bury team in the guise of their 4's and another
good Ipswich win is expected.
The
Men's 5's
play Romford 3's in a friendly.
The
Vets travel to Kings Lynn to
play Pelicans.
The
Women 1's
welcome 4th placed Bowdon Hightown to Tuddenham road on Saturday
and will want a win to break the 4 game run of 2-2 draws. These
teams meet again in the second Cup semi-final on 31st march so
both will want to win to secure the upper hand going into that
game.
The
Women 2's travel to 2nd placed
Norwich Union and know that a win would see them only need 1
more point to claim promotion back to the Premier League.
The
Women 3's played
well in patch's last week but still lost and will be keen to
rediscover their early season form against the students of
UEA. The Women 4's
play Castaways and can also clinch promotion if they win this
game.

Women
record another 2-2 draw but Men brought down by Hawks.
the
Women 1's
recorded their 4th straight 2-s draw against a Chelmsford side
they should have beaten. Ipswich had the better of the
first half and should have put the game out of reach but both
sides missed chances in the second half and will be disappointed
with only a point.
The
Women 2's rediscovered
the form they were missing and thumped Bury St Edmunds 4-0 to
be almost within touching distance of promotion back to the
Premier League. The 2's play 2nd placed Norwich Union next
week and know that a win would virtually seal promotion. On
Sunday the 2's then turned in a vintage display the 2nd team
cup to to defeat current Champions Old Loughts 1-0 in
golden goal.
The
Women 3's lost
3-2 to bottom team Bury St Edmunds 2's and will be disappointed
with the result. . The Women 4's
destroyed Mildenhall 14-1and are 8 points clear with 4 games
to play.
The
Men 1's lost 4-2 to bottom team
Oxford Hawks and are now in severe danger of being dragged
back into a relegation spot.
The
Men 2's beat Havering 5-4 to
maintain a respectable mid table place.
Well
done to the the
Men's 3's who thumped Dereham 3's,
10-2 and with it secured promotion back to East
Div2.
The
Men's 4's,v
Norwich City 4's awaiting result.
The
Men's 5's
played a friendly against Harwich and put a up a good fight
but lost 3-1.
The
Vets beat Chelmsford 3-0 and to see them move
11 points clear with 5 games left.

March 2007
Women
look to move above Essex rivals as Men want points of bottom
team.
After
last weekends mammoth trip to Liverpool the Women 1's
make the short trip to Chelmer Park to take on 5th placed
Chelmsford. With only 2 points separating the team
Ipswich know that a win would see them move above their hosts.
Despite having beaten Chelmsford in their last 3 meeting
Ipswich will be fully aware that this will be a difficult game
and with several players still battling injuries it will require a
whole team effort to claim the 3 points.
The
Women 2's also face a derby game
as they play 2nd placed Bury St Edmunds. Ipswich lost the last
time these sides met but they were fielding a weakened team
that day and aim to be at full strength this Saturday. A win would
see them move 9 points clear of their opponents with 4 games
left to play. On Sunday the 2's
then face Old Loughtonians 2's in a 2nd team Cup game. Old
loughts are holders of the title and are also top of the East
Div 1 South, so this should be a good game between two evenly matched
sides.
The
Women 3's play
bottom team Bury St Edmunds 2's so will be aiming for a return
to winning ways. The Women 4's
splay Mildenhall and know a win would seal promotion back to
the Premier Suffolk League. The Women 5's
play Sudbury 4's in a friednly.
The
Men 1's cannot afford to slip up
at bottom side Oxford Hawks and will want all 3 points to keep
them out of relegation danger.
The
Men 2's face a Havering side only
1 point behind them in 8th place.
The
Men's 3's play bottom side
Dereham 3's, a win would see them promoted back into East
Div2.
The
Men's 4's,
look to extend their unbeaten record against Norwich City 4's.
The
Men's 5's
play a friendly against Harwich.
The
Vets will want to beat Chelmsford
to see them move one match closer to retaining the East
title.
