New Club Coach 

 

The 03-04 season sees a new face for Ipswich Hockey Club.  Final details are still being worked out but the aim is that the coach will not only be responsible for the ladies 1st Team but also will be working very closely with the other sections of the club.

 

Once final details are confirmed information will be posted here, so watch this space to find out more!

Ellis and King selected for Barcelona Training Camp

   

1st-8th August will see the England Women's squad in Barcelona to prepare them for the upcoming European Nations Cup.

The squad will play two test match's against Holland as well as friendlies against Germany and Ireland.

The Holland games are scheduled for:

 

6th Aug 11.00 
7th Aug 17.00

 

Both Leisa and Jo will be wanting to impress and cement their places in the final squad for September.

Scotland beaten with ease

   

A 5-0 victory on sat saw England keep their winning momentum on route to the European finals.

Sunday's match for the England development team saw a 2-2 draw and the Scots to their credit never gave up the fight.

King and Ellis in England squad to face Scotland

   

Both of Ipswich's England stars were selected to take part in a one-off game against the auld enemy. King will only be involved in the Saturday the 19th's game at the Belle Vue centre in Manchester, while Ellis still celebrating her first class honours degree from Brunel University, will also play a role in the development squad's game against Scotland on the Sunday.

Both players will want to impress coach Trisha Herble as the fight for a place in the European squad intensifies.

Club Coach required for 2003-2004 season

 

Ipswich Hockey Club, a large and successful Men’s and Ladies Club require an experienced and qualified Coach for a varied development role.

Based in the East Anglian region of the UK the Club which runs 7 men’s sides and 5 ladies, plus several other Junior sides, is looking to appoint an enthusiastic person with the drive and vision to keep the them at the forefront of UK hockey. The club runs two sites both with sand-based pitches plus also boast’s tennis, squash and gym facilities.

The initial role will be to coach the highly successful Ladies 1st team who play in the English National Premier League, but depending on the situation and the candidate the role may be expanded to include responsibility for overall coaching for the entire club.

Level of remuneration will be depending on experience and the final role agreed upon.

Summer League final results 

 

The 2003 Summer League ended in a superb finals night at Henley rd on Tuesday 8th July.

3rd v 4th was contested by the two Ipswich teams and it was Ipswich B that came out winners with a 3-0 victory to take 3rd place.

1st v 2nd was Sudbury against Carlton Park, which saw Sudbury ease to a 5-0 win to claim the title.

It  was a great night with the highlight a fantastic buffet. Thanks to Mike and Margaret for all their hard work in making this such and enjoyable event.
