Women and men record 2-2 draws in league but Women reach Cup semi final.

The  Women 1's recorded a 2-2 draw for the third game in a row and while disappointed with not taking all three points the team can be proud of a gutsy performance after injuries left them with only 7 fully fit players! Sunday they travelled to Liverpool Sefton and won 1-0 to reach the Cup Semi finals for the first time in 5 years. The last time Ipswich made it this far in the competition they went on to win it, beating Olton 3-2 via golden goal  Ipswich now await the draw to see who they will play in the Semi-finals at Reading HC on the 31st March.

The Women 2's lost 4-0 to St Ives but despite the loss still remain 5 points clear at the top of the League.

The Women 3's  lost 2-0 to Old Buckingham. The Women 4's spread some happiness as they won 7-0 against Grasshoppers 2's to remain 8 points clear with 5 games left to play.

The Men 1's fought hard for a 2-2 draw with Firebrands. Ian Swallow scoring both goals. The point keeps them 5 points ahead of the relegation zone and within 3 points of the Bristol side.

The Men 2's play a local derby game against Bury St Edmunds. Awaiting result.

The Men's 3's destroyed Harleston 3's 6-0 and with only 5 games left to play are 10 points clear of 3rd place.

The Men's 4's, beat Cranes 2's 5-0 and maintain their unbeaten record.

The Men's 5's play a friendly against saffron Walden 4's. Awaiting result.

The Vets play Norwich Exiles and destroyed them 8-0 to stay top of the table.

21st February 2007
Men face tough home game, while Women face another double header.

The  Women 1's face another 2 games this weekend and will be keen to get back to winning action. On Saturday they face an Olton side that sits in 8th place with 11 points. With one of the strongest midfields in the country playing for them it is strange to see the Warwickshire based side so far down the table and there is no doubt that they will prove a sterner test than their position implies. The last time these sides met it was a game packed full of incident and the home side will be hoping that this time round the hockey will do the talking.  After the game Ipswich will head straight up North to Liverpool as on Sunday they play Slazenger EHL North team Liverpool Sefton in the Cup Quarter finals.  While favourites on paper Ipswich will be keen not to underestimate a side that knocked out Div 1 Loughborough Students in the last round. The winners will progress to the Semi-finals at Reading HC on the 31st March.

The Women 2's will also be looking for a return to winning action as they play St Ives away. The 2's won 5-3 in the reverse fixture.

The Women 3's  welcome Old Buckingham to Tuddenham Road and will be hoping to repeat their 4-2 win. Finally the Women 4's play Grasshoppers 2's and after no match last weekend will be keen to play.

The Men 1's claimed a vital point down at Plymouth, scoring in the dying seconds of the game. The point kept them 4 points ahead of Plymouth in the race to stay in the Slazenger National league. Firebrands sit 3 points ahead of Ipswich and a win for the home side would see them move level on points.

The Men 2's play a local derby game against Bury St Edmunds and no doubt it will be a lively affair.

The Men's 3's face Harleston 3's and will be looking to keep up their winning run as they edge nearer to the title.

The Men's 4's, will play against Cranes 2's as Champions but will not want to lose their unbeaten tun.

The Men's 5's play a friendly against saffron Walden 4's

The Vets play Norwich Exiles.

Women 1's suffer disappointing draws but Men are happy with a point.

The Men 1's had a long weekend away but came back to Suffolk happy with a point. Saturday's game v Plymouth Marjons was the key game as Marjon are 4 points behind Ipswich in a relegation place. 4-3 down with seconds to go the team owe Richard Evans some thanks as he scored to give them a point that could prove to be vital to Slazenger EHL survival. On Sunday 4th placed Exeter proved too good as the ran out 4-2 victors.

The Men 2's were also happy with their 1-1 draw against 4th placed Cambridge City.

The Men's 3's thrashed Pelican 2's 9-0 to keep them on course for the League title.

The Men's 4's, claimed the East League's first title with a 4-1 win over Pelicans 3's. Congratulations to the team.

The Men's 5's play IES vets in a Friendly game.

The Vets moved 9 points clear in the East Vets League beating Harleston 3-1

The  Women 1's did not lose over the weekend but were very unhappy with two 2-2 draws against opposition they know they should beat. Saturdays game against Old Loughtonians saw Ipswich turn in a poor display but they still had done enough to win the game but a missed stroke and a ridiculous one against them saw them having to settle for a point. Sunday did not go any better when again they did not play well and let a 2-1 lead slip to record another disappointing result.  The team have another hard week to come and will need to pick themselves up quickly and learn form their mistakes.

The Women 2's mirrored the 1's and were disappointed with a 2-2 draw against bottom team Cambridge University 2's. The 2's are still 5 points clear at the top of the table but will be keen to get back to winning ways.

The Women 3's lost out 3-0 to Haverhill, while the Women 4's got s 3-0 walkover as Haverhill 2's could not raise a side..

Finally the Women 5's play a friendly at home to Lowestoft 3's.

16th February 2007
1's face crucial Double header weekend, as 4's aim for Title.

The Men 1's face one of the most crucial weekends of their season as they travel to the West Country to play Plymouth Marjons, who are one place behind them in a relegation spot. Ipswich will know it will be a tough game and it will not be made any easier as Phil Messent and Asif Rais are struggling to get match fit. On Sunday the team then travel down to Exeter to face the league 4's placed team, Ipswich are not favourites to win this game on paper, but this side has a habit of producing some shock results, however they will have to do it without striker Richard Evans who has personal commitments.

The Men 2's face a tough test this week as the play 4th placed Cambridge City.

The Men's 3's were also victims of the snow and will be keen to get back to action against mid-table Pelican 2's.

The Men's 4's, already promoted need to beat Pelicans 3's to secure the League Title. Pelicans are in 3rd place so it will not be an easy game.

The Men's 5's play IES vets in a Friendly game.

The Vets play a tough game at nearest rivals Harleston.

Due to a snowy pitch last Saturday the Women 1's also have a double header this weekend. On Saturday they travel to play and Old Loughtonians side that must still be reeling form a 11-2 thrashing by reigning Champions Leicester. However Ipswich must not be complacent as the previous meeting between these sides was a  2-2 draw. Ipswich will reflect that they were missing 4 key players that day and will be aiming to gain all 3 points.  Sunday sees them welcome another struggling team to Tuddenham Road, Sutton Coldfield (12.30 start). Sitting in 2nd bottom the midlands side are fighting tooth and nail to avoid automatic promotion and again Ipswich will have to be on guard against a team they only beat 3-2 away form home.

The Women 2's have had a 2 week break and will be keen to get back into league action as they welcome bottom team Cambridge University 2's to Tud rd.

The Women 3's also have had 2 weeks off and face a tough away game at Haverhill. The Women 4's play Haverhill 2's and will want another win to keep them at the top of the league. Finally the Women 5's play a friendly at home to Lowestoft 3's.

9th February 2007
Women 1's frozen off and Men frozen out but 4's win promotion!

The Women 1's game v Sutton will now be played Sunday 18th Feb (12.30 start) due to a frozen pitch.

The Men 1's came down to earth with a bump after last weekends great win as they suffered a 4-0 loss to Bromley & Beckingham. Ipswich are still 4 points above the relegation zone but know that they need at least 3 more wins to keep them safe.

The Men 2's stopped the rot as they beat bottom team West Herts 4-1 on Saturday.

The Men's 3's game v IES 2's was also a victim of the snowy weather.

The Men's 4's beat Sudbury 3's 6-0 to claim promotion to East Div 4NE next season. They are the first team in the club to gain the honour this season and a win next weekend would also see them crowned Champions. Congratulations to the team

The Vets claimed a 3-0 walkover as Colchester could not fulfill the fixture.

9th February 2007
Women 1's look to bounce back v Sutton, while Men aim to build on superb win.

The Women 1's game v Sutton has been postponed until Sunday 18th Feb (12.30 start) due to a frozen pitch.

The Women 2's have another weekend off.

The Women 3's, Women 4's and Women 5's all have a weekend off and aim to play a friendly amongst themselves.

The Men 1's will be hoping last weeks great 7-1 win propels them to greater things in Slazenger EHL Div South and will be looking to cement that new beginning with a good performance on Sunday against Bromley & Beckingham. A 3-3 draw in the away fixture would point to another tight game on Sunday.

The Men 2's have lost 2 games in a row and will want to stop the rot on Saturday as they play bottom team West Herts.

The Men's 3's face a local derby game against IES 2's and will be hoping for a repeat of their 7-0 win when the sides met at Henley Road,

The Men's 4's play Sudbury 3's and again will be looking to keep that unbeaten record going.

The Vets look to recover from their first defeat with a game against Colchester.
