1's head indoors

 

The Men's 1's travel to London again this weekend to finish of their East fixtures. The 3's drew with Felixstowe.

The 4's thrashed Harleston 6's 5-1 to end 05 on a winning note.

 

The Women's 1's won 2 games but lost to Chelmsford to end up as runners up in the east Indoor.  The 2's ran out 4-0 winners over Bourne to move up into 3rd. The 4's game v Castaways saw castaways win 3-2.

Ellis heads to South America

 

Ipswich 1st team England star Jo Ellis has been selected to participate in a 4 Nations Tournament in Cordoba, Argentina, from 18 January – 1 February 2006.

 

Ellis is part of a young squad that will face the top teams in the world in the preparation for the Commonwealth games.

1's head indoors

 

The Men's 1's travel to London again this weekend to finish of their East fixtures.

The 4's will be looking to get back to winning ways as the face Norfolk rivals Harleston 6's.

 

The Women's 1's also head indoors again as they finish of their East league fixtures. In a selection of tougher games Ipswich face Chelmsford and Old Loughts.The 4's game v Castaways postponed from last week will hopefully go ahead this weekend with the 4's keen to get the win.

Women 1's get a Happy Xmas.

 

The Women's 1's beat local rivals Chelmsford 2-0 on Saturday but remained in 6th place. Their is now though only 1 point between Ipswich and 2nd place and a play-off spot is well within the teams grasp. The 1's then had another successful day at the East Indoor Championships registering 3 wins out of 3.. The 4's game v Castaways was postponed due to a frozen pitch.

 

The Men's 1's lost 1 game and won 1 at the East tournament but will be disappointed to only field 5 players.

The 2's stay in 2nd place after a good 4-0 win over Colchester . The 3's too are pushing for a top 2 spot and enjoyed winning 5-1 against  Lowestoft railway.  The 4's  battled to the end against 2nd placed cranes but lost 3-2 .

Junior cup results & draws 

 

The Boys U18 destroy Dunmow 7-1. The Boys U15 devastate local Norfolk rival Dereham 14-1 .A weakened U18 girls side lost 9-0 to Harleston away.

 

Boys U18 now play Bluehearts at Home on Feb 19th.

Yes the Xmas social is back and we are hoping to christen the new look Henley Road bar in style on Saturday night. We will then proceed into town and bust some moves on the dance floor!

Women 1's out for revenge.

 

The Women's 1's welcome Chelmsford to Tuddenham Road and will be keen to get the 3 points and a possible 3rd place spot. The game is likely to be a passionate affair and should be entertaining for the expected large crowd. The 1's then head Indoor on Sunday for the first round of games in the East Indoor Championships. The 4's also play their final game before the festive season and face  a tough test in the shape of 2nd placed Castaways.

 

The Men's 1's also head indoors at the East tournament and will be looking to win the event and go through to the play-offs for a place in the national League.

The 2's will want to stay in a promotion spot and will be looking for a good win over 4th from bottom team Colchester . The 3's too are pushing for promotion and face mid-table Lowestoft railway.  The 4's who battled well last week play another top side in the shape of 2nd placed cranes. .  The Vets do not have a game this week.

 

Sunday sees the Junior teams in action. The U18 Boys travel to Dunmow for their cup game, while the U15 Boys have a home game v Dereham. The U18 Girls travel away to Harleston, while the U15's have a bye into the plate 2nd round.

1's have mixed luck but Women's sides record clean sweep of wins.

 

The Women's 1's hit Clifton for 6 with a convincing 6-0 victory that sees them close in on a play-off spot. Only 4 points separate them from 2nd place. With 1 more game to play against Chelmsford the team will be keen to go into the Xmas break on a high.  The Women's 2's beat Cambridge University 2's 2-0 and saw themselves move up into 4th place with a game in hand over 3rd. A re-arranged game v Bourne on the 17th Dec could see them enter the Xmas  break in 3rd place. The  3's bounced back with a good 4-2 win over Bury 2's.  The 4's  also won 2-1 against Sudbury 4's to give the Women a clean sweep of wins this week.

 

The Men's 1's be very disappointed to have lost 3-2 to Oxford Hawks. However the team must be proud of what they have achieved so far and can enjoy Xmas knowing that they are in a good position for next year. 

The 2's moved into a promotion spot by thrashing bottom team St Neots 6-1, a . The 3's finally got to play a game of hockey after 3 weeks of no game and won 3-1 against  Pelicans 2's.  The 4's lost 4-2 to table toppers Felixstowe 2;s but put on a brave display.  The Vets destroyed  Norwich exiles 12-1.

1's must stay focused to claim another win.

 

The Women's 1's travel to Bristol to play bottom side Clifton but know that they cannot underestimate their opponents who are fighting for their Premiership survival.

The Women's 2's face Cambridge University 2's and will want to get back to winning ways. The  3's will still be smarting after losing to Harleston but face another tough derby game against Bury 2's.  The 4's too will want to get back on a winning run, this week they face Sudbury 4's, who are only 4 points behind them.

 

The Men's 1's will be looking to build on their great display last week as they travel to Oxford to play Oxford Hawks. Hawks have only won 1 game but Ipswich must not be complacent.

Andy Swindin who scored his second EHL goal last weekend.

 

The 2's are pushing hard for a promotion spot and this week play bottom team St Neots, a high scoring win is on the cards.. The 3's are desperate to play some hockey and will pray that their game against mid-table Pelicans 2's will go ahead.  The 4's play table toppers Felixstowe 2;s and will need to be on top form to get a result.  The Vets play Norwich exiles at home.

 

These are the last league games for some teams so a win would see them go into the Xmas break with a real spring in their step.

Vet's Over 50's get another home tie

 

The Vets were rewarded for their 4-0 win against Oxford Hawks with another home draw in the 3rd round of the vintage Cup. This time they face Trojans on the 22nd January.

Xmas social

 

Several teams have arranged Xmas social events and we are hoping to tie that in to a few drinks at Henley Road if the bar is ready.  With the Women's 1's playing Chelmsford at home at 14.00 any support at that game would be welcome. The Tuddenham Road Bar will be open.

Jo Ellis getting stuck in v New Zealand

Since Sept 02
