Ladies 3's beat Harleston to ensure clean sweep of 04 Derby games.

The Ladies 3's beat Harleston Magpies 1-0  to see them move up to 5th in the table. With 4 sides getting promotion to Div 1 next year Ipswich are still very much in the hunt for promotion.  The result also ensured that no Ipswich side lost a League game to their Norfolk rivals in the first half of the season. Teams that play each other are : Ladies 1's, Men's 1's. Ladies 2's Men's 2's and Ladies 3's and Men's 3's.

All the Junior sides are in action this Sunday. The Boys U18 did not play  Old Southendian but the Boys  U15's beat Norwich City 3-2 on penalty strokes after the game was tied at 2-2 in normal time. They now play Old Loughtonians away in round four on 20th February. The U18 Girls played Tring in the plate competition and won 7-1 while the U15's travelled to Dunmow and lost 11-0

Ladies 2's draw holders in 2nd round of 2nd Team Cup.

The Ladies 2's while pleased to have a first round bye, have a tough 2nd round home draw against Woking, last years winners of the competition. Ipswich though did well last year and were semi-finalist's of this competition themselves so this is bound to be a fiercely contested match.  Woking play in Div 1 of the South League and like Ipswich are struggling to find league results so far this season.

The game starts at 12.30pm @Tuddenham Road on Sunday 27th February. Supporters welcome.

All the Junior sides are in action this Sunday. The Boys U18 face Old Southendian away and the U15's play  Norwich City at home.  The U18 Girls travel to Tring, while the U15's travel to Dunmow.

Men's 5th team withdrawn from League

The Men's playing committee has taken the disappointing decision to remove the  Men's 5's from the East League Div 7SE. The team has struggled with selection since the start of the season-due to may different reasons including travelling distance, school commitments etc- and decide that it was in the best interest for all  to withdraw the team.

Apologies to all concerned.

Ladies and Men's 1's get early Xmas present

The Ladies 1's travelled to Southampton to play Trojans and returned with a 1-0 victory and 3 points. the win keeps them in 2nd place 1 point behind Chelmsford with a game in hand. The Men's 1's bounced back in style from their first loss to beat  Harleston Magpies 3-1 and maintain top spot. The Ladies 2's were minutes away from an all important win but Norwich union eqaulised to make it 2-2.  Ipswich enter Christmas just above a relegation spot.  The  Men's 2's kept Harleston 2's rock bottom with a classic 2-1 victory to complete the double over their local rivals. The Ladies 3's  lost 3-1 to Braintree a disappointing result but a much better performance than the first fixture that they lost 7-0. The Men's 3's beat Cambridge University 3's 4-3, highlighting their improvement as they lost their opening fixture 3-0 to the uni side last time. A vital 3 points.. The Ladies 4's did not have a game. The Men's 4's were hit hard, 7-1by Southend 2's. The Men's 5's disappointingly conceded to Felixstowe 3's . Finally the Men's Vets do not have a game.

Christmas will be a a happy time for our top two sides but both know that 2005 will be a different test of their character as teams aim to shoot them down. Lower down our teams are finding life tough and many teams will be pleased to say goodbye to 2004.  May 2005 bring better fortunes!

The final games are our Junior sides next weekend.

Ladies  1's aim for 3 points to finish 2004, while men face derby test

In what are the last Senior games before Xmas the Ladies 1's face struggling Trojans and will be looking to claim 3 points to cement 2nd place in the league.  Defender Kirsten Spencer is also now back to full fitness. The Men's 1's suffered their first defeat last week and face another tough test this weekend as they face local rivals Harleston Magpies. They beat Magpies 4-3 in the first game of the season. The Ladies 2's will want to go into Xmas on the back of a win and they play Norwich Union, who are in a relegation slot 1 place below the Suffolk side but only on goal difference.  A win is vital for both sides.  The  Men's 2's will be hoping to get their act together as they also face local rivals and bottom of the table Harleston 2's. They beat them 6-4 in the reverse fixture so things look good for 3 points. The Ladies 3's  fresh from their good win last weekend face a Braintree team that beat them 7-0 in the reverse fixture. The 3's have improved remarkably since then and sit 1 place above the Essex side. The Men's 3's face Cambridge University 3's and after losing the opening fixture 3-0 to the uni side the 3's will be keen for revenge. The Ladies 4's do not have a game as Mildenhall pulled out of the league. The Men's 4's are still looking for their first win and face a Southend 2's side that beat them 4-2 in the opening fixture.. The Men's 5's are also looking for a win against Felixstowe 3's another side that recorded a 4-2 victory in the opening game.  Finally the Men's Vets do not have a game.

So 2004 is drawing to an end and several teams will be very happy with their progress, others not so.  Either way have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Ladies  1's go top for 24 hours but men fall to first defeat

The Ladies 1's beat Doncaster 2-1 on Saturday and sat at the top of the National League for a heady 24 hours!  With local rivals Chelmsford beating Canterbury on Sunday Ipswich dropped back to 2nd place but are only 1 point behind their Essex rivals with a game in hand. The Men's 1's played 3rd placed Chelmsford 2's and tasted defeat for the first time this season, due to other results though they still are 3 points clear with a game in hand. The Ladies 2's played Gravesend and wil feel unlucky to come out with only 1 point.  The  Men's 2's suffered another bad week losing 3-1 to Wisbech. The Ladies 3's  enjoyed another local derby win with a 1-0 victory over Haverhill . The Men's 3's could not repeat last weeks good win as they lost 4-0 to Bury 2's.. The Ladies 4's played unbeaten leaders Grasshoppers and lost out 10-1 but battled hard for the full game. The Men's 4's lost 8-1 to Brentwood 3's and are still looking for that first win. The Men's 5's could not field a side against Colchester 3's and therefore lost 3-0  Finally the Men's Vets beat Colchester 4-1.

Sunday sees the girls U17 play Bury St Edmunds..awaiting result.

A good weekend for almost all the Ladies teams, but a dire weekend for the men. With only 1 week to go before Xmas a better weekend is hoped for.

Ladies  1's can go top as Men face tough Derby game

The Ladies 1's play Doncaster at home and know that they should be looking to take all 3 points. A win would see them go top for at least 24 hours as Chelmsford and Canterbury do not play each other until Sunday. A draw here would see Ipswich stay top. The Men's 1's face a derby game against 3rd placed Chelmsford 2's and now that they cannot afford to drop their level of play. The Ladies 2's will be keen to get back into action against fellow strugglers Gravesend.  The  Men's 2's will be looking to bounce back against a  Wisbech town side only 2 places above them. The Ladies 3's face another local side Haverhill who are 2 places below the Suffolk side. The Men's 3's hot on a winning streak play another local derby against Bury St Edmund 2's who are 5th in the table.. The Ladies 4's are hoping to get a game this weekend  against unbeaten Grasshopppers and know that it will be a tough game. The Men's 4's play mid-table Brentwood 3's and are still looking for that first win The Men's 5's play table topping Colchester 3's in a very tough game.  Finally the Men's Vets don't have a game.

Sunday sees the girls U17 play Bury St Edmunds

A vital weekend for the Ladies 1's and Men's 1's not to mention the local derby games throughout the club.
