Club Day Countdown


Sunday 5th September sees our annual Club day swing in action, heralding the Official start of the new season.

This is an opportunity for current and new people to come along, find-out more about the hockey club, have a go at playing, and have some fun (sticks / bibs available, bring training shoes and tracksuit or shorts or skirt).  

With a BBQ starting around 12.00 and hopefully a Bouncy Castle, this should be a fun day for all the family.

10.00-11.00  Boys and Girls from aged 6-10 – fun coaching session

11.00-12.30  Boys and Girls from aged 11-16  – fun coaching session

12.30-6.00   Adults matches and general socializing

Club Fixture lists


The overall fixture list is now ready. This includes fixtures and times teams by date and by team. We are still awaiting away fixture times and venues but will be updating the sheet as and when they arrive.

 

The Club fixture card (contains all team contacts etc.) will be sent out this week via email to all members that we have a current mail address for. If you do not want to miss out please send your email address to fixturecard@ipswichhockeyclub.co.uk and we will make sure you are sent one.

Kids Hockey Camp roaring success


Tuddenham road was a hive of activity on Sunday 15th August as over 50 kids attended a summer camp run by 4 of Ipswich's top stars.  Jo Ellis, Nick Thompson, Leisa King and Kirsten Spencer were all coaching during the day and the event was a massive success.

 

Prizes were awarded for best player, best attitude and all attendees received a personalized certificate signed by, Ellis, King and Thompson.

GB men in Olympic action


The GB Men opened their Olympic campaign with a 3-1 victory over Egypt.  ALL GB games are hopefully going to be shown live on BBCi Interactive, so if you have digital TV don't miss out.

All Fixtures & home times


Due to a re-issue of Suffolk fixtures there will be a slight delay on getting out the fixture card.  It is hopefully due out next week.

 

However if you need to know fixtures and home times of individual teams they can now all be found on the fixtures page or from links on the teams pages.

 

An excel spreadsheet with all fixtures by date will be completed shortly and will be available on line.

Junior Summer Camp


Ipswich Hockey Roadshow: Sunday, August 15th (no age limitations for juniors)

The coaching will be led by Great Britain Olympian Nick Thompson along with current Internationals Leisa King and Jo Ellis

There will be a skills session in the morning and a tournament in the afternoon. The day is sponsored by Gryphon hockey so there will be top of the range sticks to be won.

There is also a discount for all Ipswich club members of 20%. We hope you can make it and if you need any further information please contact Jo on 07788 140754.
